Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 11am- 4pm! Join us in the Oak Park Arts District for our fourth annual WOW! Women Owned Works event. Show your support for all of the unique, women-owned businesses flourishing on Harrison Street. Follow #WOW!2021 and #shoponharrisonstreet in your social media. Look for bright yellow decorations inside & outside of participating businesses. Shop hours vary by business. Please wear your mask and follow the sanitation practices businesses have put into place.

Expressions Graphics: The printmaker’s co-operative is running its annual show celebrating the passion of the color “RED.” Expressions Graphics is located at 29 Harrison. Viewing hours are 1 – 3 pm.

Dancing Krow Studio:  The artist collective run by Karen Schuman is spending 2021 contemplating “A New Mythology.” Exhibits this year will examine the concepts Alone, Division, Remembrance, Vision and Return. The gallery will celebrate women’s month and WOW! with weekly posts on Facebook highlighting our amazing women artists. Purple Sun Arts: Purple Sun Arts will be participating in the WOW! Event by turning yellow! Sunny decorations, yellow ribbon rose giveaways, bumble bee doll jewelry, yellow leather medicine bag necklaces, greeting cards, and the rollout of registration for Ann Vierne’s long-awaited Cosmic Smashbooking sessions of art journaling combined with intentional creativity. Studio 144 Boutique: Owner Marcia Brown Jackson will host a ReFresh Sale- refresh with skincare, bath and body, fragrance, candles, and more. The Happy Apple Pie Shop: The Happy Apple Pie Shop will celebrate women by hosting local singer Kelly Ann Clark. Kelly Ann will sing a medley of songs by and about women from 1 – 3pm. Celebrate Women in Song! The Happy Apple Pie Shop is located at 226 Harrison.

Dye Hard Yarns:  Join us at Dye Hard Yarns for our 2nd ever WOW event! On Saturday March 20th from 11 – 5pm spin the Wheel of Fortune for a chance to win fun prizes. You could win yarn, discounts, classes, fiber, tools and notions. There will be plenty of hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes on hand, but if you’d rather stay home, shop online and call owner Chastity Dunlap to spin for you! (Only 4 patrons allowed at one time. Buzz Cafe: The cafe will offer a special throughout the day–soup, salad, quiche and shortbread cookie for $15. Buzz Cafe is located at 905 S. Lombard Ave.

Cygnature Girl:  The CG Studio will host its monthly pop-up shop that will showcase girl and women entrepreneurs from age 11 – 38 with a variety of items for sale! In honor of WOW!, all attendees will be entered into a drawing for a yellow Cygnature Girl tee! Cygnature Girl is located at 911 S. Lombard Ave.

Bead in Hand: Owner Kim Humphrey will host a show of jewelry handmade by the staff. The design studio will also have a 15% off sale on all yellow glass beads and a free gift with a $25 purchase. Enter to win the WOW! goody bag while shopping.. Bead in Hand is located at 145 Harrison St.

Styles 4 Kidz: The salon will have a selfie station near its front door plus door prizes and candy for families that stop in. Tamekia Swint is hoping to raise awareness for her non-profit that “expects to serve 900 kids and 400 families this year.” Styles 4 Kidz is located at 235 Harrison St.

INTUIT Dance: Diane VanDerhei’s studio will be open and practicing choreography for its Spring Recital. Stop by and register for a class or watch a rehearsal! INTUIT Dance is located at 237 Harrison Street.

Val’s halla Records: Val’s will run a Covid-friendly scavenger hunt in the store. Using your cell phone, you can learn more about some of the amazing women in music history. Elevate Creative: The salon will offer a free gift with purchase from its in studio boutique and its online shop. Owner and WOW! founder Gail Coughlin’s focus is hair, skin, bath, and body items that are eco-friendly, health-conscious, and women-owned. Enter to win the WOW! goody bag while shopping.
