Building on the success of its autumn event, Art on Harrison, the Oak Park Arts District launched “What’s Blooming on Harrison” in 1999.  Over the years, this family-oriented May event has highlighted the District through artist demonstrations, live music, dance performances and an art fair featuring select guest artists and local crafts people.  2017’s festival kicks off with a Third Friday Gallery Walk on May 19th.  On Saturday, May 20th, “What’s Blooming” moves outside taking over Harrison Street, from Cuyler Avenue to Humphrey, with the art fair and other Family Fun Activities including a children’s carnival, live music, dance, craft demonstrations and hands-on workshops.
