Enjoy an afternoon of music at the Oak Park String Academy’s annual benefit concert on Saturday, December 15 at 2 pm, at Grace Lutheran Church (7300 Division St., River Forest). Each year, OPSA puts on a benefit concert that aims to connect the children of Oak Park and surrounding areas to the wider world they live in. This year they are partnering with Hephzibah Children’s Association, an Oak Park-based social service agency that helps empower kids and strengthen families right here in our community.
Come enjoy violin and cello performances by faculty and students (beginner through advanced) and share in an afternoon of beautiful music. Together we can make the world just a little more peaceful and magical.
The concert is free, but donations are encouraged via the link on the OPSA webpage: www.OPStringAcademy.com

Learn new techniques and hone your baking skills in this fun, hands-on class, perfect for both new and experienced bakers.
We will make four festive cookies: jam thumbprints, rolled gingerbread cookies, cocoa-pecan rochers, and citrus shortbread.
Each student will work with a partner to craft unique creations. You’ll leave with a generous assortment of cookies and a head start on your holiday baking.
Light refreshments will be served alongside cookie tastings.
This class will be hosted by owner of Rare Bird Preserves, Elizabeth Madden, and local baker, Danielle Jamnik.
Students will receive 10% off of all items in the shop on the day of the class

Each session begins with a brief introduction, followed by beautiful chanted meditation and time for quiet contemplation and reflection. This drop-in event is open to everyone, and no previous experience is needed. 3 sessions from 8 pm – 12:15 am, attend as many or as few as you’d like. Free.
